Band Camp and First Day of College.

I will say one thing, and one thing only about what I've learned while being around college kids for the past week; don't go alone.

This applies to all genders, races, (most) situations, and all species of human beings.
Don't go alone to a party, have someone watch over you and drive you home safely if you partake in college activities.
Don't walk alone down the street, yes guys, you too. Anything can happen to anyone no matter the number of people, but a singular person is an easier target.

That being said, today marked my induction into becoming a Missouri Tiger. Marching Mizzou played at the quad after the Freshman, like myself, hauled ass through the columns and tried not to get trampled over. Me and the rest of color guard were in the front of the group, there was a lot of pressure.

I sometimes forget why I put myself through the countless hours in the blazing sun spinning a hot metal flag, and then I remember what friends I have already become so close to and classes haven't even started yet. There's no way I will be doing more than a two years in college guard, and that's fine because for me, it's all about the people.

I do not enjoy talking to people and meeting new people, but I force myself into situations like that so I'm not that one kid. And usually it works out.

I apologize or the lack of posts, college, my job, and M2, will be consuming my life for the next while or so.

First Impression: Maybelline New York Baby Skin

All humans have pores. Shocking right? Now that we have all passed basic human science, we can move on to basic treatments to make these pores less visible; at least that's what this product is trying to sell to us.
Maybelline New York came out with a new product similar to Baby Lips. I have never tried baby lips because my hemp chapstick works just fine also because is $1.75 vs. $5 or however much it costs.

I'm too cheap for that. But nevertheless...

This new product is called Baby Lips. I had watched a review of this from Bunny on Youtube, and she didn't seem too impressed with it but I gave Baby Skin the benefit of the doubt and gave it a chance.

I bought it at my local Walmart, it cost $5.94.

When I first applied the product it didn't feel as greasy and oily as I thought it would be. It came out clear and went on clear, I didn't more face shine than usual after applying Baby Skin. It was very light and felt like moisturizer on my skin.

Below is chart showing my makeup free face before and after applying Baby Skin and then again after 30 minutes of it being on my face.

None of the photos have been edited (only cropped and resized for veiwing purposes.) I don't notice much of a difference at all. At least not as much as I was expecting. Maybelline makes it seem like there will be a huge difference, although I will admit that after 30 minutes my face did look a little more "airbrushed" but only slightly.

One question I do have is that if I regularly apply Baby Skin, will it eventually minimize pose visibility over time? If not, invest in that kind of product and not this one time application serum where the results are minimum.

Based off the "instant pore eraser" advertisement, I give this product a 4/10 and I do NOT plan to buy it again. The results were not worth the price.

Benefits of Coconut Oil

Home remedies make the world go round. A current trend is the use of coconut oil, a natural oil that comes from the meat of, obviously, coconuts. Coconut oil can be used as an alternative to butter/shortening as well as a creamer for coffee, but can also have strong beauty and health benefits.
When you add coconut oil to your daily diet...
  • 2 tablespoons consumed a day for 12 weeks will help with weight loss
  • Mixed with hot tea can heal the common cold and flu
  • Mixed with hot ginger tea can reduce nausea
  • Help reduce anxiety and depression
  • A tablespoon taken before a meal can improve digestion
  • Can increase mental alertness
  • Prevent/ reduce Alzheimer's
When you apply it externally...

  • Used on the skin for basic lotion.
  • Eye makeup remover.
  • Can be used in making a remineralizing toothpaste.
  • Used on skin to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy.
  • Can help increase sun tolerance to prevent sunburn (also has SPF 4)
  • Can kill a yeast/ yeast infections.
  • A small amount ran through hair can reduce frizz.
  • When mixed with apple cider vinegar, is a natural treatment for lice.
  • Is a natural lip balm.
  • Mixed with sugar or baking soda to make a body scrub.

Products tend to be filled with chemicals and tested on animals. And although the chemicals may or may not do well on for you personally, humans are natural beings so why not use more natural products when dealing with our skin or diet.
Hence coconut oil.
